Let’s face it. Weddings are expensive. Although many of us may pray that the “Ang Baos” will help cover for the wedding costs, we do hear stories every now and then of couples receiving Empty Red Packets (Shocking! In Singaporean culture, most couples face multiple milestones within a close timeline i.e planning for Wedding, renovating for new home, deciding a honeymoon destination etc. Thus, we compiled a list of ways to help save money for your wedding day to help ease your finances.

1) Deciding on the overall Wedding Budget
First things first. Many couples rush into the nitty gritty of wedding planning (Booking a Wedding Date, Securing a banquet, Deciding on a Bridal Boutique etc) rather than taking a step back to discuss what they could really afford. Coming up with a budget that you and your partner are willing to spend is important and really should be the first thing to do before being overwhelmed by other details of the wedding.

3) Leveraging on Talented Friends
Do you know of any friends that fit into these categories?

- Has a creative eye for floral arrangements and reception table
- Speaks eloquently in large audiences

Look within your existing friends and see if possible to engage their services for a discounted rate. Depending on the type of services, some would even offer their help for free given their friendship with you.
